Plants are so freaking adorable.
I planted some herbs the other week and they’re starting to sprout. They’re so green and happy… It’s exciting. It got dark out and now they’re leaning in towards the light in my room. Adsajklsdjksdfa. IT’S. SO. CUTE. WHY ARE PLANTS SO CUTE?

sassy-gay-red: translunar: I liked the work I did in my figure drawing class today, so I’m posting it here. My camera made the blues really bright for some reason. I tried to adjust it but… I got lazy. But just so you know, the blues are not that bright IRL. Haha. Oh wow Asher this is great!! A lot of things look awkward, but I’m guessing that wasn’t the point of the...

Just A Quick Note to Atheists (From an Atheist)
thegoddamazon: thefullmetalbitch:    Being an atheist does not erase privilege. This includes white privilege. This also includes cis privilege, CNDP privilege, and het privilege. Seriously, being an atheist does not erase your white privilege. Criticizing exclusively (majority) non-white religions is racist. This includes Islam. The existence of white Muslims does not invalidate this...

thegoddamazon: dumbthingswhitepplsay: Because I’ve seen what white people call racism, and they’re often wrong. Things I’ve seen white people call racism: —Telling a fact about slavery —Black people telling facts about themselves —Any discussion of racism —White people crying for any reason during that discussion. —Black people raising their voices even half an iota during a discussion of...

Well, a lot of things… But right now especially misogyny. If you’re a misogynist, cut that shit out. Please. Seriously. It’s gross.

Once more, with feeling: Being "polite" is not a...
kiriamaya: [trigger warning for rape, religious abuse] My parents are always very “nice” and “polite” when they tell me they refuse to call me my name. That one pastor who wanted to forcibly poison me with testosterone was very “civil” when “suggesting” the idea to me. And my rapist was very “kind” when he was grooming me for what was about to happen. There’s a certain subset of activists who...

A thing that bothers me:
When people start replacing “male” and “female” with “male-identified” and “female-identified”. Or even “correcting” others about it… In every instance. It’s one thing to clarify in situations such as “This women’s group is open to all female-identified people” because god knows women’s-only spaces have...

youarenotyou: being told by so-called radicals- that our stories don’t matter that we need to focus on the bigger picture that having a voice (when we’re constantly denied one by society) isn’t activism that talking about our oppression is infighting and we need to band together demonstrates that the so-called radical school of thought is not much better than liberalism; dogma that is...

On an ethical lifestyle and organ donation.
femmedykeslut: fracturedrefuge: hate-wizard: I’m an organ donor. I also am somewhere in between vegan and vegetarian. I see a contradiction in this. This means that if I die, any of my usable organs will be harvested and transplanted into another human being, if possible. However, the odds of any of the recipients being vegan or vegetarian is very small.  Somewhere around 2% of the Western...

Ways Gender-Privileged Men Can Challenge Sexism
meeca: (This list will be forever in-progress. Please add on as you see fit). Challenge sexist jokes, such as dumb blonde jokes or jokes about rape. Avoid using words such as “bitch”, “ho”, “slut.” Recognize when you “zone out” when women are speaking, when you value a man’s opinion more than a woman’s, or when you ask a man for information or advice rather than a woman. Recognize times when...

Ok so I get it.
It’s okay for me to talk about getting angry as a form of self-defense. But it’s not okay for me to actually do it. I don’t want to hear that “it wasn’t as bad as the examples in that text”. It was still ignorant and it still triggered me. Intent really doesn’t come into it because intent doesn’t make things hurt less. I’ll tell you what...

Thanks for your input everyone.
I’m glad to know that ya’ll know what my priorities are. Thank you for explaining them to me, even once I asked to drop it. I get it. It’s my duty as a representative of the entire human race to always be calm and sweet and educate everyone, and that if I don’t I’m an awful human being. (Nevermind the hypocrisy of triggering a person while tone-policing.) So thank...

I get really frustrated when people shame others for not standing up for other people, or calling people out when they say stuff that’s hurtful. It is extremely difficult for me to call people out, or stand up for others or even myself, even about really insignificant shit. I’d like to, believe me, but I can’t. I already feel like shit about it, thanks. I get that silence...

My opinion on "The Help"
It’s one of those movies I almost want to watch so I can properly justify my hate for it, but I won’t because I know enough people who have done exactly that and regret having done so because it was everything they expected it to be.

So I actually
really don’t like Sherlock/John as a romantic ship …At all. I mean, I like the ridiculous amounts of gay subtext as much as the next person. but… I think that they are incredibly close friends and that’s awesome, but I feel that making it romance cheapens it. They clearly love each other, deeply, but that doesn’t mean romantically. I mean. To be fair I have some...

Huh...
It’s interesting to me how completely blind people are to their own racism. Just. Completely. I don’t get why it’s so hard for people to understand that just because they don’t experience something, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Like. Seriously.

And Pirate is among their list of language options… Yessss… Ahaha. I’m actually interested in learning Spanish (and ASL which they don’t have of course because it’d be really hard to integrate a sign language into software meant for teaching spoken languages.) But. That just made my day. That’s all.

racialicious: daniellemertina: FYI, not wanting to emphasize race, wanting to be color blind, not wanting to focus on racism in movements (like OWS and feminism for example), saying we all bleed red, or nobody’s life is perfect and we’re all oppressed, and etc. is racism. It is trying to circumvent dealing with racism. It is trying to deny that racism impacts people’s lives in real ways. It...
