To everyone who has EVER told a trans person not to change their body because YOU like it as it is.
Reblogged from classic-link
You basically said to them
“What your body looks like is more important to me than you are as a person.”
So fuck you.
How does that even imply that they aren’t interested in your personality? To me the statement just means to be yourself on the inside and the outside.
You must be cis…
For many trans people, being ourselves on the outside means changing our bodies. When a trans person needs to transition (visually, physically, or otherwise) and can’t, it can, and often does seriously harm their health and well-being. When you say to a trans person “I like your body as it is so don’t change it” you’re saying “my opinion of your body is more important than your health and well-being” which is a really fucking shitty thing to say. (And I really don’t give a shit if it’s intended that way or not.)
And I am not saying any more about this because it’s not my job to educate your cisgender ass, and because this is really fucking triggering for me.
