Um. I'm 19, and an art student. My blog is kind of disjointed, like my little intro here. For the sake of context, I'm a trans guy, and asexual-ish, and I dunno. I have hands, they're pretty cool. I draw with them sometimes. I also have feet which I'm pretty proud of. I have five of them and also two of a different kind below my ankles.

Also my name is Asher.

Hi.

Why aren’t white people trusted to call racism in the presence of PoC?

Because I’ve seen what white people call racism, and they’re often wrong.

Things I’ve seen white people call racism:

—Telling a fact about slavery
—Black people telling facts about themselves
—Any discussion of racism
—White people crying for any reason during that discussion.
—Black people raising their voices even half an iota during a discussion of racism
—Black people speaking at their normal volume during a discussion of racism.
—A discussion that appears to maybe at some point perhaps become a discussion of racism.
—Black people talking in their own corner amongst themselves

Think of it this way.

If you see a 3 year old running toward the street, are you going to use your common sense and snatch that child before they get there, knowing they probably will run right in without thinking, or, will you sit there and assume that they are some kind of special 3 yo that will know better?

Then do better, or let us do how we’ll do.

This.
